Stress is something that everyone deals with. When you are stressed you tend to lash out, get angry, frustrated, you might get migraines or headaches. We are going through really stressful times right now, what with the Coronavirus and political controversy going on in America today. Majority of people are staying home from their jobs, kids have school canceled and everyone is working from home (if you are a non-emergent worker).
I know as a senior in High School that this influencing me because I wasn’t able to go to Guatemala for my Senior Mission Trip. I also don’t know if I will be able to got to Senior Formal, Graduation, or depending on how long this epidemic lasts, attend my first year of college physically. So, to help with the stress here are some tips that might help you if you find yourself stressed out in a tough spot:
- Avoid Caffeine, Alcohol, or Nicotine. Alcohol is a natural depressant, and nicotine and caffeine are known to raise stress levels
- Get some exercise. We might be in quarantine, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go for a walk
- Get some sleep. Taking a nap is a great way to clear your head and refocus yourself on what tasks you need to accomplish
- Talk to someone. We all have phones, call your mom, she’ll talk to you forever.
- Manage your time. Make a to-do list. You have to admit starting and completing a task and then marking it off feels sooo good.
- LEARN TO SAY NO. If people just keep asking you to do stuff for them or your are just getting stressed by being near people. Say something. If you don’t they will never get a clue and they won’t learn that you aren’t a superhero, you ca’t do everything!
I use a lot of these in my day-to-day life.
